IPSY Generation Beauty 2018
Lipsticks and glosses and liners oh my! This was my mantra as I stepped into this playground of beauty at last weekend’s annual IPSY event. The exhibit hall was average size but the contents massive with no detail over-looked making; this one of the best beauty events I’ve attended so far. The photo ops and entrance screamed glam and your free swag bag (included with every ticket) was literally brimming with samples and full sizes of top name brands in the industry. Within minutes of walking in I already had my money’s worth but that was only the beginning….
Every brand represented had an impressive, interactive booth setup. No, I’m not talking about a folding table, banner and free pens convention style- I’m talking pop-up shop type displays with music, lights, beautifully lit displays, models, brand ambassadors…the works! Each vendor had something they were promoting and offering i.e. free makeovers, free samples, free full-size products/ gift with purchases/spin-to-win games/ crazy discounts etc. You were eligible to take advantage of every stop after they scanned your wristband so you left the event with TONS of great steals and deals.
Even though this was a ticketed event the lines were massive, 45-minute average wait time some even topping the hour mark (oh MAC I tried to wait but my feet were killing me.) Lighting passes were offered when I bought my ticket and I foolishly opted out, those lines were short and worth their weight in gold as the folks in those lines happily zipped pass the masses scooping up amazing products and event cred while they were at it. Bottom line- this two-day event was truly spectacular and one that the avid beauty junkie should not miss; just plan accordingly as you are in for an exciting time as long as you remember that patience is a virtue. 😉
