A Summer Retreat In A Cold Brew Bottle!

Oh, the weather is warming up and summer vacation plans are on the rise, this is the time to sit back, relax and sip on a delicious drink. When I mean a delicious drink, I am referring to a cold brew coffee made with real coconut milk. Confused? You won’t be once you try this amazing new cold coffee brand I discovered at the Natural Expo in Orange County rightfully named “Palm & Bean.” Imagine medium roasted Columbian-sourced Arabica beans, then add to them some creamy coconut milk, and what you get is a delicious drink that makes you wish you were enjoying it on an island somewhere.My first taste-test of this cold brew was the Tahitian Vanilla flavored coffee. I immediately tasted the coconutty flavors combined with a very distinct but subtle vanilla taste. The coffee was smooth, light and very refreshing. The second taste-test was their Kona Mocha which was absolutely my favorite. I love the smell of vanilla but I love the taste of chocolate. The problem is that most of the time it is difficult for me to find a vegan chocolate that tastes great and isn’t too bitter. This coffee, however, was not bitter but really flavorful and heavenly! I loved the taste of the mocha combined with the coconut milk and coffee. It would probably also make for a great milkshake.Although I highly enjoyed the savory flavors of these coffees, what really makes Palm & Bean stand out from other brands is that their products are vegan, dairy free, gluten free and contain no GMOs or carrageenans. This is really great, especially the part of “No Carrageenans” because those are usually found in almond and coconut milk which tend to be destructive to our digestive system.  This brand did their homework and took out all the bad ingredients found in “good foods” but kept the true benefits of the source.
