Glam Beauty Tools
I am a sucker for beautiful, sexy things; any logic or reasoning just goes out the window along with my credit card whenever I see something painstakingly attractive. Luckily, I am not a high-profile man running for office, so my weakness only extends to material goods. Still, some serious damage can be done with the slew of crystal emblazoned, glitter encrusted, shiny objects that are available on the market.
Corinne and I had a good laugh when at our last event I had a hard time finding the restroom but managed to spot a bedazzled lipstick from yards away. What can I say, I make love with my eyes and occasionally the sheer attractiveness of a perfectly designed beauty product sends me over the edge. Rodan and Fields recently launched their holiday gifts sets, (ok months ago but whatevs); I’m pretty inundated with products right now so I politely passed when offered but then I caught a glimpse of this silver, diamond-like, luxuriously designed eyelash curler as part of one of their sets.
What else was included for over an over $200 price tag? Who cares, it could have been a tub of Vaseline and Q-tips because I was buying that eyelash curler…the rest was fluff. So, do pretty things work better? Probably not, maybe even less so than simple, effective, streamlined products that focus on performance other than looks.
That’s my super-ego talking by the way; whenever I become too mature and realistic about my purchases. What drives my passion for 24K gold flaked masks, my golden caviar infused creams, my rose gold bars of eyeshadows and my overall obsession with all things gorgeous…well; that’s my Id and it doesn’t plan on taking a backseat to maturity anytime soon. Join me on the sparkly side…it’s nice here; and we have champagne.
