Bōdhi Space…a little piece of heaven on Earth.
Imagine a place so light and pure you can find whatever it is you are looking for…whether you seek answers, finding a connection or something else entirely. That place is elusive for most but now, it’s become a closer reality thanks to Bōdhi Space and its creators who seek to spread goodness wherever they go. Let me give you the backstory, a while ago Corinne and I attended the Conscious Expo in DTLA, I’d describe it as interesting and quirky- an expo filled with the spiritual, mystical and sometimes out there concepts. After a long day we retreated to a quieter part of the convention where we spotted a small yet powerful space that coaxed us into stepping inside. The ambiance was warm, inviting and engaged all our senses. The space was simple and practically begged us to relax and connect; in summary it was just wonderful. It was there that we met Punya, a beautiful high priestess who we connected with immediately. Her aura was fierce and her message of love and finding your best self really resonated with us.
I had the honor of interviewing Punya a few weeks after we first met. Our conversation was energizing and refreshing- a true testament to the power of sisterhood. The concept of Bōdhi space came about when Punya and her business partner Keith, a spiritual healer in his own right- began creating oil blends focused on specific needs. Witnessing the positive response from the community and seeing a need for an even deeper connection, they began brainstorming the concept of a tangible space; a pop-up if you will that could go anywhere and provide refuge to those who seek. After realizing that this space was essential in every community, they began traveling to festivals and this is where their very first structure was built and unveiled.
So, what exactly goes on inside this space? What is its purpose? The answer to all those questions can only truly be answered by those who experience it firsthand. It can be anything to anyone, it just depends on what you truly need. However, from the creators themselves they only hope that they have created a space that leads its guest “into the infinite nature of self-discovery.” After all, we can all agree that there’s more to life than the trivial and material, connecting to a higher consciousness may sound intimidating to some but that can be as simple as taking a moment to breathe, to inhale deeply and take in your surroundings. Ultimately, Bōdhi Space embodies all that is good and meaningful, it brings a bit of clarity into a sometimes-dark world…we can all embrace that.
